Projects Underway

Well, it’s a new day to begin the world of editing.

As of right now, I have an anthology of short stories about ready to be published (the book created by multiple authors for the victims of Sandy Hook victims and their families), my own anthology of short stories that is just about completed as well, in addition to five novels that are in process (one in the editing phrase), and four novellas that are on my radar as well.

Someone recently told me that my brain is either relieved or exhausted. My reply? It’s both! But for the first time in years, the amazing feeling of the words clicking, the characters coming to life, my sleep disturbed by those pesky little guys, and the plots are really starting to take shape and grow. The feeling of “needing to write” has once again hit me. I will soon post a list of titles for my wonderful friends to be on the look out for. 🙂

Everyone have a great day!!

A New Beginning

Oh lord, well, I’ve decided to try my hand at blogging and what the creative world has in store for me. My name is Desiree Scott and I live in Missouri, the beautiful part of the country known as “The Show-Me” state. I have just turned 30 years old and my beautiful daughter will be turning six on July 2nd. Where has the time gone?? It just seems like yesterday that I was pregnant and wondering, uncertain, about both of our futures. I was single and struggling, no place to raise a child. But Thank God, I figured it out pretty quickly. A word of warning: I love to talk and have been known as a chatterbox.

However, time seems to pass so quickly and I will try to keep up with this blog.

You see, I’m a writer. I do have an MBA in finance and currently enrolled in another degree program, English and Creative Writing. I know, weird combination, right? But I have been writing since I was sixteen and currently have an average of six novels started and multiple short stories completed.

By this time next year, I will have at least TWO novels finished and either self-published or by the route of tradition. I’m starting to lean towards self-publishing, NOT because I don’t think I’m good enough but because of the advantages that self-publishing will afford me, such as complete control, a BIG deal breaker there! I love control, professionally and personally but no, I’m not a whiner when things don’t go my way. I forge different paths and reality has a way of altering one’s intentions, you know?

Well, I think that’s enough about me for right now. I Wouldn’t want to bore you too soon, now would I? I will be posting excerpts of my stories and novels, as well as just chit chatting about everything and anything.

Everyone, enjoy your day and start a new day with a smile!!
